MR. ABDUR RAUF, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer M/s. Shahzad Apparels (Pvt) Ltd, (Joint Venture Kellwood Co. USA) and a local investor in Karachi Export processing Zones has nominated as Member Board of Directors of EPZA by the Federal Government

Mr. Abdur Rauf belongs to a very reputable family of business community in Pakistan. He was born in Sargodha on 4th May, 1945.He is Graduation in Commerce with major in Business and Finance from Karachi University (1965) and Diploma in Printing Sciences and Management from London College of printing-United Kingdom (1967)

He started his career in 1967 at Thomas De La Rue & Co. London, where he had Management responsibilities in international sales, marketing and general management. Between 1967-80 he served in different positions in Europe, Asia. After working with TDLR as a Senior Executive-Marketing, he joined a Hong Kong based company M/s. Giltex  Hong Kong Ltd as a Director, Marketing and moved its Textile branch in Pakistan and started production of garments “Made in Pakistan” for export to USA and Canada. Until recently in the year 2002 he entered into a Joint Venture Agreement with Kellwood Co. USA which is 7th largest apparel company of the world and listed in New York Stock Exchange. He established Shahzad Apparels (Pvt) Ltd in EPZ Karachi with local and foreign investment and producing value added chenille products for 100% export to USA, Canada. He is well known personality since 1984 in the textile and apparels business community for his contribution to promote “Made in Pakistan” products.
